اُجريت دراسة محلية لتقييم تقنية الصيد المكثف بإستخدام الجاذب (FLYCAP®) لمكافحة ذبابة فاكهة البحر الأبيض المتوسط (Diptera: Tephritidae) Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) على عائل الخوخPrumuspersicaL. خلال الموسمين الزراعيين 2010 و 2012. سُجلت كثافة منخفضة للآفة خلال الموسم الزراعي 2010 (50.9 ذبابة/ مصيدة/ أسبوع)، بينما كانت كثافة الآفة مرتفعة في الموسم 2012 (533.3 ذبابة/ مصيدة/ أسبوع). بالرغم من الاختلاف في كثافات الذبابة المسجلة خلال الموسمين، إلا أن فعالية معاملتي الصيد المكثف ومبيد دايمثويت لم تتغير معنوياً، حيث بلغت معدلات شدة الإصابة فيها 9.65% و7.2% على التوالي، ولم يظهر التحليل الإحصائي أية فروق معنوية بينهما، بينما سُجلت فروق معنوية عالية مع معاملة الشاهد التي كان معدل شدة الإصابة فيها مرتفعاً وبلغ 35.97%. أثبتت نتائج هذه الدراسة أنه يمكن إعتماد تقنية الصيد المكثف بالجاذب الغذائي (FLYCAP®) كأحد الوسائل البديلة في مكافحة ذبابة الفاكهة C. capitata في منطقتنا عند المستويات المختلفة للآفة، كما يمكن إدماجها ضمن أي برنامج إدارة للآفة. إضافة إلى أن إستخدام تقنية الصيد المكثف من شأنه أن يجنبنا التلوث البيئي الناجم عن المبيدات وكذلك المحافظة على التنوع الحيوي وتجنب التأثير الضار على المفترسات والمتطفلات.
