تستخدم طرق الموجات فوق الصوتية التقليدية بشكل متكرر للكشف عن الانفصال في المواد المركبة، ولكن تقنيات متطورة كشفت مؤخرًا عن عيوب في المادة اللاصقة في نماذج الكوبونات الواقعة تحت الشد المباشر. تهدف هذه الدراسة الحالية إلى التحقيق في الانفصالات مع تشققات المادة اللاصقة الناتجة عن صدمة ذات طاقة قليلة على رقائق الكربون/البولي إيثير كيتون شبه المتساوية الخواص باستخدام مجموعة من طرق النبض فوق صوتية ذات الصدى. يتم الكشف عن الانفصالات التقليدية من خلال سعة الموجة وزمن رحلة الموجة الصوتية باستخدام مسح C عند زاوية عمودية على العينة، في حين أنه يمكن الكشف عن الشقوق في المادة اللاصقة عبر سمك الرقيقة باستخدام مسح C مع توجيه مرسل الموجات باتجاه محور المعينة وليس بشكل عمودي. تم وصف بعض نتائج اختبار الموجات فوق الصوتية لعينة من الألياف الكربونية المقواة بالبولي إيثير كيتون في هذا العمل، وتم مقارنتها بنتائج الأشعة السينية لإظهار فعالية نهج الفحص المقترح.
