The Libyan Crisis: Social Fragmentation and Multiple Pathways – A Sociological Perspective

Abstract

This paper addresses the social and political impacts of the Libyan crisis post-2011, focusing on social fragmentation and the multiple life pathways of youth. It employs a qualitative methodology including field interviews with samples of youth and affected families. The study concludes that radical events such as wars and natural disasters have reshaped identities, educational, and professional trajectories, leading to a loss of stability and increased social vulnerability.
