Abstract

This theoretical paper explores the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming Human Resource Management (HRM) and shaping broader economic outcomes, with particular relevance for developing economies undergoing rapid digital transition. The paper seeks to conceptually explain the mechanisms through which AI-enabled HR practices enhance organizational performance, labour-market efficiency, and national economic competitiveness. Grounded in Human Capital Theory, Digital Transformation Theory, and the Resource-Based View (RBV), this study provides an integrated framework linking micro-level AI adoption in HR to macro-level productivity, innovation capacity, and sustainable economic growth. As global organizations navigate ongoing restructuring and labour-market shifts, this paper offers theoretical clarity and forward-looking insights for policymakers, HR leaders, and scholars.
