Abstract

The research aimed to provide a comprehensive thematic analysis of contemporary research trends (2015-2025) concerning positive counseling interventions for adolescents. Employing a thematic analytical approach, the research systematically reviewed and analyzed a sample of 72 published Arab and international studies, which served as the primary data collection tool. The content of these studies was analyzed through systematic comparison to identify prevailing theoretical frameworks, methodological patterns, the most effective strategies, and existing knowledge gaps. The results indicate a prominent shift from traditional therapeutic approaches to positive psychology models, such as Growth Mindset and PERMA, highlighting the superior effectiveness of multi-component interventions. Furthermore, a clear methodological disparity emerged between Arab studies (often using small samples and quasi-experimental designs) and international studies (employing large samples and randomized controlled trials), alongside a significant scarcity of long-term follow-up studies to assess the sustainability of outcomes. Consequently, the research recommends designing comprehensive, culturally-adapted counseling programs, adopting more rigorous mixed-method research designs, conducting longitudinal studies, and focusing on bridging the gap between academic research and field application.
