Abstract

Libya has a vast geography. A country made up of a diverse and diverse social fabric. Which made its heritage effects and remnants multiple and harmonious with each other. The Tebu, Tuareg, Berbers, and ancient local Arabs all formed local civilizations with deep roots, and then newcomers came to the country. All of this has made the cultural heritage a mosaic of historical heritage. The coast and desert of Libya are immersed in antiquities, tangible and intangible heritage, and historical heritage cities that attest to the presence of these peoples in the Libyan cultural scene. In this study, we do not want to review all the stations of material and intangible antiquities and recorded and proven cultural heritage. There are scientific studies and bibliographic evidence prepared for this, as much as we want to focus on what is stated in the fifth axis: The challenges, stakes, and future visions of the cultural heritage in my country, Libya, are the main reason that made me interested in this topic. The problem of the study lies in the identity of this heritage of many colors and shapes. Do we root it as a heritage with a local dimension, or do we make it a heritage with an ethnic dimension that carries a colonial spirit that recognizes the control and sovereignty of the newcomer, and from here the challenge and threat to the cultural heritage has become continuous? This is what this study will attempt to shed light on.
